Ultrasound Tutoring for Students — FAQs
Do I have to be a sonography student to access your services?
Students from a range of healthcare disciplines, including sonography, medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, podiatry, and radiography, are welcome.
Are sessions conducted one-on-one?
Yes. Student sessions are conducted on a private one-on-one basis with the tutor. This allows sessions to be tailored to your individual learning needs, scanning experience, and areas of focus. Students should not bring additional individuals to attend or participate in a session.
Can I scan my friend or family member?
Ultrasound Tutoring Hub uses pre-screened ultrasound models for student sessions. This helps ensure a consistent educational experience and aligns with our non-diagnostic service model. Friends and family members should not be brought to participate in a session.
Can I scan my classmate?
Ultrasound Tutoring Hub arranges ultrasound models for student sessions. This helps ensure a consistent educational experience and allows sessions to be conducted using pre-screened models.
Will you teach anatomy and pathology?
Sessions include brief guidance on relevant anatomy and commonly encountered pathology. The primary focus is on developing practical scanning skills and building confidence in performing the scan yourself.
Is this an ASAR accredited course or will I receive credit towards my ASAR accredited course?
Ultrasound Tutoring Hub does not provide accredited courses, formal qualifications, certifications, or academic credit. One-on-one tutoring sessions are designed to complement your existing studies and focus on practical hands-on scanning skills.
Why is there a minimum booking time of 50-minutes?
Sessions are approximately 50-minutes in duration to allow time for preparation, equipment setup, and room sanitisation between appointments. Ultrasound models are booked specifically for your session and are reserved for a full one-hour slot.
What if I complete my selected scan before the session finishes?
If you complete your selected scan before the end of the session, we can use the remaining time to reinforce your scanning technique, revisit challenging concepts, answer questions, or move on to another scanning protocol where appropriate.

Are you able to cover structures not mentioned in your protocols?
Protocols are based on routine structures commonly assessed sonographically in clinical practice. If you have specific learning objectives or structures you would like to focus on, please contact Ultrasound Tutoring Hub to discuss your requirements prior to booking.

Anatomy adventure -FAQs
How old do I have to be to be able to participate in the anatomy experience?
Participants must be at least 10 years old. Participants aged 10–15 years must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Will I be able to handle the ultrasound probes?
Yes. Participants will have the opportunity to perform most of the scan themselves under guidance and learn how ultrasound is used to identify major abdominal organs.
Is this a medical appointment?
Anatomy Adventure sessions are educational experiences only. No diagnosis, treatment advice or health assessments are provided.
Do I need prior knowledge of anatomy or ultrasound?
Not at all. Everything will be explained during the session.
Can I scan my friends, family or myself?
Ultrasound Tutoring Hub uses pre-screened ultrasound models to provide a safe and consistent learning environment. Participants do not perform scans on themselves, friends, or family members.
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely. One friend, partner or legal guardian may attend as an observer.
What will I learn?
You will learn to use ultrasound to identify the major abdominal organs with guided explanation of their structure and function.
Will I get a souvenir when I complete the session?
Yes. You will receive an email containing the ultrasound images captured during your session and a fun Anatomy Adventure participation certificate.
